September 2022 will feature the first research project promoted by MINI for the SOS9 Master’s Program students, to promote experimentation and the development of visionary projects in the field of sustainability within the urban environment.
On March 4th, Renzo Vitale, Sound Creative Director BMW Group, met with the #SOS8 Master’s Program in Sustainable Architecture and Design on our campus in Via Poma 52 (Milan) for a lecture on the role of sound in design and sustainability.
Renzo Vitale and the students had an open conversation on the relevance of sound in the execution of an architecture project and shared reflections on the influence of acoustics in the physical and emotional perception of different spaces and locations, a topic very close to MINI’s interest and mission since its launch in Italy in 2001, under the BMW Group banner.
That same evening, the MINI-SOS partnership was introduced during the event “The SOS School of Sustainability Story” at the ADI Design Museum, featuring a presentation of this current year’s Project Tracks, the second phase of the SOS Master’s Program. In September 2022 the research project that will be developed by next year master’s students will be announced.
MINI and SOS share visions “empowerment of young talents (…), the focus on urban reality (…), the attention to design and detail and sensitivity on the issue of sustainability” - said Stefano Ronzoni, Director of MINI Italia, adding, “...that’s why we are very excited for this new partnership that represents a great opportunity to support the SOS mission of redefining the professional identity of designers and architects.”
