The architectural portal Floornature.com has published the ninth edition of the international contest Next Landmark: a design competition supported by Foundation Iris Ceramica Group and SOS – School of Sustainability, Mario Cucinella Architects open to professionals and creatives from the disciplines of architecture and design graduated after 2010.
“An educational garden in Fiorano Modenese” focuses on the design of the external areas of nursery school “Casa Coccapani”. The winner of the contest will be rewarded with a scholarship for participating in the Master in Sustainable Design of SOS – School of Sustainability in Bologna, Italy.
The competition aims at promoting innovative ideas that take into account different aspects related to a conscious and sustainable design.
Designing spaces for growing up and learning represents an act of social responsibility: kindergardens are places where future generations will be formed.
The call invites designers to reflect on how a renewed relationship between the individual, the community and the natural space can become a tool for urban regeneration and a vehicle for social cohesion and well-being.
The outdoor area of ”Casa Coccapani” will be conceived as a welcoming play area where kids can learn, experiment and discover the surrounding world, guaranteeing them beauty, accessibility, sharing and inclusiveness.
The deadline for sending the entries will be May 30th, 2020.
The competition jurors will be Federica Minozzi, CEO of the multinational Iris Ceramica Group; architects Mario Cucinella, Founder of MCA Architects and Massimo Imparato, director of School of Sustainability; Paolo Schianchi professor of Visual Communication and Interaction Design at the Salesian Pontifical University Institute of Venice; Francesco Tosi, Mayor of Fiorano Modenese, Don Antonio Lumare, parish priest of Fiorano Modenese and President of the Coccapani Foundation
