On June 16, at 3:00PM (GMT+2) SOS School of Sustainability will host a SOS Open Lecture by Prof. Vassilis Mpampatsikos.
Vassilis Mpampatsikos is a structural engineer, PhD in seismic engineering.
He works as a freelance engineer and contract professor at the Polytechnic of Milan, where he teaches structural mechanics and design of structures at the Faculty of Architecture. His main activity is focused on the renovation of existing buildings and the reduction of seismic risk, in particular as regards reinforced concrete structures and historic masonry buildings.
Vassilis Mpampatsikos lecture at SOS will revolve on application of advanced engineering techniques for reducing the impact of earthquakes on existing buildings, as well as on the theoretical framework that underpins advanced practice on seismic structures.
