SOS– School of Sustainability is proud to announce that we will open our new #SOS8 Cycle for the coming academic year in October 2021, and we’ll be moving to our new facilities in Milan! The inaugural event will be held in September, in line with the Salone Internazionale del Mobile (the global benchmark fair for the furnishing and design sector).
The SOS experience emerges as an English taught professional school with an international approach, offering a Master’s Program for recent graduates and young professionals to build experience in a setting that integrates education, research and practice. A comprehensive program, lasting 12 months and combining principles with a practice-based approach to the design and application of the most advanced methods, processes and tools.
In order to meet the needs of a wide range of students and professionals, for this coming academic year SOS#8 has expanded the educational format according to a modular structure allowing students to pick individual modules from our Foundation Courses, programs with durations ranging from one to eight weeks. The modules have been designed as highly professionalizing paths to forge four main professional figures that are in great demand in the field of consultancy as well as in the corporations, institutions and the third sector: Sustainability Advisor, Green Building Manager, Environmental Analyst and Circular Economy Consultant.
Applications for both the full Master’s Program as well as the Standalone Module are now open. Interested candidates can simply fill out the form and they will be promptly contacted by the SOS Admissions team.
The vast SOS network provides students the opportunity to come into contact with public and private entities, a wide range of firms, professional practices, government structures, industry partners and organizations which will be directly involved in the broad learning process.
Founded in 2015, in Bologna, SOS is doubling down on its mission and keeping up with its success as a post-graduate formative experience with the move to the new headquarters. The new 1000 sqm structure will open its door to both SOS and MC A – Mario Cucinella Architects in order to allow for the continuation of the crucial collaborations on research and development of sustainable design between school and firm; as exemplified by TECLA, prototype 3D printed global habitat for sustainable living.
Located in a former mill from the 30’s, the new headquarters lie in the Risorgimento neighborhood, on the East side of Milan, just a 30 minute walk from the Duomo and the lively Porta Romana and Porta Venezia, the historical and contemporary heart and soul of the city, a symbol of Made in Italy design.
An ample façade conceals four levels interconnected through wide galleries on each floor and with an central opening spanning from the bottom floor all the way up to the dominant skylight, at the center of the rooftop terrace.
Via Poma 52, Milano 20129 – just a few minutes’ walk from the historical center of the city, the new location is conveniently connected to Milan’s efficient above and below ground public transportation and just a 20 minute ride from Linate Airport or Milan Central station.
