Mina Akhavan is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Adjunct Professor at Politecnico di Milano- Department of Architecture and Urban Studies, where she received her PhD degree in Spatial Planning and Urban Development (2015) with a doctoral thesis on port-cites, port infrastructures and their impact on urban development, focusing on the Middle Eastern Region. Her research interest also concerns the globalization trends and logistics network; transnational urbanism; mobility and ageing; sharing economy and new emerging workplaces. She is also part of the management committee of the European Cost Action 18214 “The Geography of New Working Spaces and the Impact on the Periphery” (2019-2023).
