On 26 June 2019. h 7.00 pm, at the School of Sustainability in Bologna, it will host #SosOpen a conference open to the community and professionals. The guest teacher will be Ingrid Paoletti Associate Professor of Building Technology at the Architecture, Built Environment and Construction Department (ABC) at Politecnico di Milano.
The era of climate change we are living in involves a profound change in the relationship with nature and the environment. The anthropocentric model is no longer suited to our way of living and behaving on earth that has procured large amounts of waste. However, the way we design and build our environment can make the difference, using contemporary technologies and materials to try to give some answers.Among the potentialities available today, the ‘performance- driven design’ consists in the possibility of using computational tools and digital fabrication techniques to optimise the use of resources, while extending the designer’s creativity. In this framework as a research group MATERIAL BALANCE of the Politecnico di Milano, ABC Department, we are working on solutions that are the result of the intersection between materials science, biology, mechanics and new production techniques, in order to develop innovative construction systems that have a positive impact on our built and natural environment.
2 CFP (Continuous Professional Development credits) will be awarded by the Ordine degli Architetti of Bologna to the event participants.
