The strategic partnership with Uninettuno University: a milestone for SOS
Thanks to the partnership between the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO, an international leader in online and distance academic education, and Mario Cucinella's SOS School of Sustainability Foundation, which since its founding in 2015 has being training new generations of architects and designers in the name of environmental sustainability, a new format of the Academic Master in Architecture and Sustainable Design is born. Delivered in hybrid format, both online on the UNINETTUNO e-learning platform and on campus at the SOS headquarters in Milan. Students will be able to complete their course of study in Milan, working om their final projects in a highly professionalizing context within the Mario Cucinella Architects (MCA) studio following the delivery of their online classes.
The Master is supported by SOS partner companies that offer students scholarships and training opportunities in the field through the implementation of real projects, workshops, meetings, and other activities.

The Commitment of the SOS School of Sustainability Foundation
Founded in 2015, the SOS Master’s Program in Sustainable Architecture and Design is a pillar in the field of professional training. The SOS School of Sustainability Foundation has been operating internationally for 9 years within training processes, through the collaboration with companies and research centers, among these Unipol SpA, Caimi Brevetti, Manni Group, MINI-BMW Group, Artemide, Fondazione Ferragamo, to bring together theory and practice, starting from the knowledge acquired by MCA in over thirty years of international experience in the fields of design and architecture. The didactic program is designed to inspire and train new generations of conscious and responsible professionals who will have to face the challenges of climate change and environmental sustainability in the design of spaces. The Foundation's activities are coordinated by a Scientific Committee, chaired by Aldo Colonetti. Technical and design knowledge, without ever forgetting the humanistic and multidisciplinary dimension; at the center above all, the relationship with the system of Italian companies that are the core of Made in Italy: this is the philosophy of SOS. “Our territory is unique, from this point of view it is a real laboratory of know-how: to do is to think, this could be our motto” as the Founder Mario Cucinella points out.

UNINETTUNO University for Sustainability Training
UNINETTUNO has been among the most active Italian and international academic institutions for the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s 2030) for many years. In the field of environmental sustainability, it coordinates GreenSCENT, one of the most important projects of the European Commission for the education of the new generations on environmental issues; it was recently invited to present at COP2 in Dubai, the academic and professional training project for journalists from Africa and the Mediterranean entitled Reporting Climate Change, carried out with the support of the MUR – Ministry of University and Research; the curricula of the Faculties of Engineering and Economics are strongly oriented towards the issues of energy efficiency and sustainability.

It is essential to design training systems that have two irreplaceable points of reference; on the one hand, through the School’s Atelier, the proximity to the construction site and the industrial culture, and on the other hand, to use the most innovative technologies, which the UNINETTUNO e-learning platform, a leader in this sector, can provide, because this is where the future of higher education lies.
“We must make sure that we always maintain the material relationship with the production and industrial processes, on the one hand, and on the other, using the most advanced languages of communication and representation, we have to be sure to involve experiences, knowledge but also anthropological models and traditions of other geographical realities” underlines Aldo Colonetti. The program will therefore offer virtual teaching, interactive tutorials and discussion forums, combined with hands-on activities on the SOS campus in Milan, guaranteeing maximum flexibility and engagement for participants.
